What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is quite simply and state of relaxation. This is where the body relaxes and allows the hypnotherapist to access the subconscious. Different people have all sorts of bodily responses to relaxation instructions - some feel as though their body is very heavy, whereas some can feel very light, almost as if they were floating. People typically report feeling very focused or absorbed, often effortlessly so.

Can anybody be hypnotized?

Yes, everybody is able to be hypnotized to some extent - some more than others.

Some clinicians, notably Milton Erickson, have felt that everybody can be hypnotized but that the hypnotist must modify the style or content of what they do. I also believe this and have found by adapting my approach based on my client, all of them have successfully been hypnotized.

can i lie under hypnosis.

Hypnosis cannot compel people to do things they don't want to do, and it can't force them to be truthful either. Meaning if you choose to lie, you can just like in conscious state.

Will I be asleep?

No, you are awake and aware of your surroundings and the voice of the hypnotherapist.

Will I remember everything?

Yes.

Can i be forced to do something I don’t want?

No, everybody’s subconscious has the ability to protect them. You will only accept suggestion that you believe. Essentially, if you don’t want to do something, you won’t do it.

Can I get “stuck” in hypnosis?

No. It is just a state of relaxation, which you can easily bring yourself out of. The worst the could happen is you become so relaxed you might fall asleep.
